Philip David Hogarty was born on April 18, 1988 at Holles St, Dublin, raised in Baggot St until at age 2 he moved to Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin in 1990. Philip Hogarty was chairman of the Irish Chess Union from September 2006 to his death in January 2008. Phil was hit by a Garda car shortly after 2:30am on January 1st. He died later that day at 4:10pm.
