Philip Carlo is a well-known author and biographer of notorious killers Richard Kuklinski and Richard Ramirez.

Philip Carlo was born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York. Since an early age, he was involved in gang activity. When he was 14 year old, Jimmy Emma, a close friend of Carlos', was shot in broad daylight by a Colombo hitman. He was also shot in the forehead with a .22 pistol in a subsequent gang war. [1]
