Philip Boyce (born 25 January 1940) is the Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Raphoe, Ireland[1].
[edit] Early Life
He was born in Downings, County Donegal, Ireland. He was educated at Derryhassen school in Meevagh parish and at Castlemartyr College, County Cork. Then in 1959 he joined the noviciate of the Discalced Carmelites in Loughrea, County Galway.
[edit] Religious Career
He was ordained a priest on 17 April 1966 for the Order of Discalced Carmelites and was appointed bishop of Raphoe on 29 June, 1995. He was ordained a bishop on 1 October, 1995. The Principal Consecrator was Cardinal Mejía; his Principal Co-Consecrators were Archbishop Emanuele Gerada and Bishop Séamus Hegarty the retiring bishop of the diocese.
