Philip Avery

Philip Avery is a BBC Weather forecaster, appearing regularly on television on BBC One, BBC News and BBC World News as well as radio on BBC Radio 4. He is a main weather presenter on the BBC News at Ten, and has previously been a main presenter on the BBC News at Six and BBC News at One.
He has been with the BBC Weather centre since April 1998. He took time out from presenting between September 2004 and July 2005 to take part in the Global Challenge 2004-2005 yacht race.
Phil was born in Dunfermline, Scotland and spent time as a meteorologist for the Royal Navy.
Phil married in October 2006 and has recently become a father.
