Philip (Saliba)

Metropolitan Philip (Saliba) (born June 10, 1931) is the Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America, which is the leadership position for the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. Metropolitan Philip has held this position since 1966.

Philip was education at Balamand Orthodox Theological Seminary in Lebanon, and at schools in Syria. He later studied in England, at Kelham Theological School and at the University of London. After moving to the United States he studied at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and at Wayne State University, where he received a B.A. in History. He received an M. Div. degree from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in 1965.
