Phil McGuire (born 4 March 1980 in Glasgow) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
McGuire, a left sided central defender or midfielder, started his career with Aberdeen where he made 181 appearances, scoring 10 goals. He joined Doncaster Rovers in July 2005 for a free transfer and played 14 games for the English League One club.
After only one injury hit season in England, he returned to Scotland in July 2006, signing a two year deal with Dunfermline. On 31 August 2007 he signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle on loan until January 13th.[1]
On the 14th of January 2008, McGuire signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Inverness after Caley Thistle and the Pars agreed a nominal fee.[2]

In June 2006, McGuire was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service for attacking his wife at their West Yorkshire home on 7 May that year. Although childhood sweethearts since the age of 16, an argument which began via text, resulted in McGuire "kicking, punching and grabbing" his wife after a booze-fuelled evening out. McGuire admitted common assault and was sentenced accordingly.[3]
