Talk:Phenylmagnesium bromide

I inserted a new drawing. If the community finds the PhMgBr drawing to be more instructive, that's okay with me. Nice report!--Smokefoot 03:59, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I think this version makes the role of ether/THF much clearer. Tweaked the language a bit to make it fit better. Thanks for the compliment! --Rifleman 82 06:36, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Error on Page: Diethyl ether is NOT a polar solvent. Acetone/DMF/EtOH/H20 are polar. Mattybhoy 69 (talk) 09:41, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think I put that there, and I would still characterize ether as a polar solvent. Relatively polar, at the very least. Polarity is relative, and I was thinking about it in comparison with non-polar solvents like benzene, toluene, hexane. A certain amount of polarity will be needed to solvate the Grignard reagent; the O on ether or THF will do. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 13:12, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
