459 references for a 300 word article? Something is out of balance here! -- Michael Tinkler, sticking his toe back in wikipedia after a year off

The reasons I added this rather long reference list to the main Phelsuma article are:

  1. that this main Phelsuma page links to many articles on Phelsuma species. In many of the listed references, more than one species is described, so I would have to duplicate those references many times (for each described species), which seems a waste of disk space. I would rather link each reference (record) to the different articles (other records), like a relational database, but alas wikipedia doesn't allow for this.
  2. If one wants to read more about this genus, this list is a starting point.

We could of course create a new article "Phelsuma literature".

Hello,

Concerning the Phelsuma article, I'd like to know what people would like to have improved / added most urgently. Jurriaan 11:42, 21 Dec 2003 (UTC)

IMO, that enormous reference list needs to go. How about moving it here to talk: instead? Bryan 04:00, 16 May 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Gieco Gecko

Should we add something about the fact that the Gieco Gecko is a day gecko? 1 wit da force 15:36, 16 August 2007 (UTC)1 wit da force
