Phenatoma is a genus of predatory sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Turridae, the turrids.

This genus is endemic to New Zealand.
[edit] Shell description
The shells of species in this genus are rather large and very tall-spired, but with a narrow body whorl, tapered to a short, deeply notched siphonal canal.
