From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greetings!
My name is Ryan, and it's my pleasure to welcome you, Phatmonkey, to Wikipedia! First of all, I'd like to thank you for joining the project, and contributing to articles and discussion. I hope you can continue to take part in Wikipedia, because we need more valuable editors like yourself.
If you are new and need some assistance, here are some great links to check out:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia are the primary goals and most important rules that we follow.
- These help pages are important if you'd like to learn more about specific processes.
- The tutorial is a hands-on approach to learning all about editing.
- For a "crash course" in editing, head on over to Redwolf24's Bootcamp!
- Writing a great article is a noble accomplishment. An article you start might end up on the Main Page!
- The Manual of style is an in-depth group of pages that will teach you how to make articles look their very best.
I hope you enjoy editing here, and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, find out where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Before I go, here's one more tip. When you post on talk pages, be sure to sign your name and the date by typing four tildes: ~~~~. That automatically generates your username and the date. Again, welcome, and happy editing! --King of All the Franks 12:08, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] R/C wiki!
Say, have you considered joining a growing R/C wiki over at Wikicities? Love to have you there! There's a link to it on my home page. Swing on by and sign up if you like what you see. Only about four or so active editors at present. Happy new year and thanks for helping clean up the R/C articles around here! - Lucky 6.9 08:53, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- I might sometime! :) --Phatmonkey 15:21, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Radio controlled => radio-controlled
-
- Does it need that hyphen? I never thought it did! --Phatmonkey 13:29, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
The traditional way of using hyphens is hardly taught anymore, it seems, although newspapers, magazines, and most publishing companies still adhere to it. But I think it should be kept for reasons I may expand on further at some point. In the mean time, please see hyphen. Michael Hardy 19:21, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AIV
Hi, couldn't block the IP you listed on AIV because that IP had one edit and no warnings. If vandalism from rotating IPs gets to be too much, you can request semi-protection at WP:RFPP. KillerChihuahua?!? 20:33, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RC Airplane book (wikibooks)
Hi Phatmonkey!
Doing some cleanup work at wikibooks, and wondered if you'd minf if I changed the book to "Remote Controlled Airplanes", Rather than the more cryptic "RC Airplane". I'll leave redirects, of course.
(Askeing you here rather than there because you seem to be here more than there... I'm in both places, so feel free to respond either nere or there on my talk). :) --SB_Johnny | talk 20:39, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- "Radio Controlled Aircraft" works just as well. It's just a bit cryptic as a book title (for someone like me, for example :).
[edit] Airtronics
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Airtronics, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Bfigura (talk) 02:18, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
