[edit] Do NOT convert to American spelling articles that are clearly written in other varieties.

Tony 13:01, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

It's a basic principle in WP:MOS. Look under national varieties. People usually object strongly to mass alterations such as yours. WP is an international project, not an American one. Tony 13:26, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

PS I forgot to thank you for your change to the 'reliability statement', which is a nice improvement. Tony 07:05, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
The economy is on the boil, and in Western Australia they're crying out for tradespeople, and paying good money for them, because of the mining boom. Tony 07:17, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Google "Western Australia" "mining companies", I guess. Tony 07:32, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trimetric

Thanks for the image! It's excellent. The article does need a paragraph of explanation for each of the three, but the picture's worth a thousand words. Tempshill 23:11, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Regarding this image - are you sure the dimetric one is actually dimetric? The projection plane has to meet two of the axis in the same angle, that is, two of the angles of the chest's edges as well as the foreshortening ratios along two axis should be identical - but instead the top angle is 120° like for isometric, and the other two are 105° and 135° - making this trimetric as well. --Allefant 00:32, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, swapping the first two fixes it indeed. Something else I'm wondering, would it be hard creating a version of the chest where the depth is exactly as big as the side-length of the (outer) square? I think it would make it more clear to readers how the three projection types differ. --Allefant 10:45, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
What I meant was, yes, make the depth as long as the height - then you could tell the foreshortening ratios at a glance. E.g. right now, it's not easy to see that in the isometric case all three principal axes are shortened by the same ratio. --Allefant 11:08, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Or maybe, instead of modifying the chest, just super-impose red/green/blue x/y/z axes of unit length over the nearest vertex. I think that would add an additional informative effect for the reader. I could even do that myself in photoshop I guess. And something else (just in case you have time) - does SolidWorks support cabinet projection? --Allefant 09:32, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering if you might change the image so that the form of dimetric projection depicted more closely matches that found in video games. Currently, by simply looking at the pictures, the first one actually "looks" more like it even though it isn't. SharkD (talk) 04:33, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Also, regarding the overlay: it might be better to measure the angles from a (bottom) corner of the object that lies at the origin of the universe's coordinate axes. (This might be nitpicking.) SharkD (talk) 04:38, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Myspace icon.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Myspace icon.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Digitally Imported

I have listed on DRV, as it actually looks like it wasn't listed correctly. I only noticed this just now, and it might be why there were so few willing to contribute to the AFD debate. - Ta bu shi da yu 15:14, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use images on Wikipedia user pages

Hi, I removed some images on your user page, quoting WP:FU. What I intended to link you to/should have linked you to was WP:RFUI. I noticed you didn't contest, but I thought I would come back and clarify this. Thanks for your understanding. aliasd·U·T 05:12, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copy/Paste page moves

Please don't use copy/paste to move articles. Instead, use the move tab at the top of the page. It's kind of annoying, and the pages will end up looking exactly the same, but it's necessary to satisfy the GFDL. I've tagged Kia Bongo‎ for deletion to straighten it out. --OnoremDil 16:06, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Just have to wait for them to delete the new page. Once they've done that, you can move the old one. --OnoremDil 11:36, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kia Bongo

I was trying to fix the copy-and-paste move. If the information on the page is inaccurate, feel free to correct it; because of the way that the move was handled, it was tough for me to figure out what it was supposed to say. Ral315 » 10:33, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New User, Looking for feedback

Phasmatisnox,

I am a new user to Wikipedia and looking for some feedback on an article I have been working on for free machining. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. Blapcewi 18:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question about photo

Hi, can you add details to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Korean_pear.jpg , a photo you took and uploaded to Wikipedia? Specifically, where did you purchase the pear, and do you know where it was grown? Thank you, Badagnani (talk) 02:35, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
