[edit] This is the only way I can write to you

I got a message from you about an expirement or something. I don't know if you did it by my user name or my IP address. I don't even know what expirement you were talking about.

Please email me at [e-mail removed to prevent someone spamming you] so we can discuss this. There is no hostility, I just want to know what was happening.

My log in is jaylectricity and my IP is 71.162.100.65

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Queens College, City University of New York. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. [edit] My DYK update

It's been a while since I've done a full-blown update (and longer since it was such a rush-job), so I won't mind at all being told what I got wrong this time round. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 06:11, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Peer review request

I have seen you around, working on NYC-related articles. Lately, I've been working to bring the WTC article, and its subarticles to featured status. Right now, one is at peer review - Wikipedia:Peer review/Design and construction of the World Trade Center. It covers historical/planning aspects, as well as structural design and construction. Before going to WP:FAC, this article can use some folks to look it over and make suggestions, make sure it's not missing any important details, etc. Any help with reviewing the article would be most appreciated, should you be interested and willing. There's no obligation at all. Also, can think of anyone else to ask to review it? --Aude (talk) 16:02, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg

Hello, Pharos. An automated process has found and will an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that is in your userspace. The image (Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg) was found at the following location: User talk:Pharos. This image or media will be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. This does not necessarily mean that the image is being deleted, or that the image is being removed from other pages. It is only being removed from the page mentioned above. All mainspace instances of this image will not be affected Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. [edit] 2007-05-17 POTD

OK there's a new POTD now: Template:POTD/2007-05-17. Thanks for the alert. I will inquire as to licensing on Commons. howcheng {chat} 21:24, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Archduke Charles painting

I tried to discover the provenance of this painting, but was only successful in finding the website it was apparently copied off of. That website says nothing about who created the painting or when; and actually the few paintings I found of him online that were source were all made after his death, and were not contemporary. Frankly, the image meets the criteria for deletion at Commons too, but I'm reluctant to nominate it. See commons:Commons:Village_pump#Obviously_PD.2C_lacking_source_information. Thanks.--Pharos 02:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for the explanation, and sorry for the error. This isn't my area of expertise, and I'd assumed that the available information was sufficient because you didn't nominate the image for deletion. Unless we can determine the painting's origin, I see no viable alternative. —David Levy 02:40, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Star Wars free-image

I understand that lately there has been a sudden boom of advocacy for free-images on Wikipedia. I am all for free-images as this is a free encyclopedia. However, the image for the main page as some people seem to have a common misconception with, is not required to be a free image. Both The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith were featured on the main page with their posters as the main page image. Raul654 himself comments on his page User:Raul654/Featured article thoughts under the "Selecting the image" section: "A main page image should convey the topic of the FA with as much specificity as possible, even if you took all the rest of the text away." The free-image you replaced the poster with is simply a photo of a hotel used for filming. How does this convey the topic in a way that could be understood with the text removed? The only image that could successfully do this is the poster. I asking you, being an administrator, to place the poster on the main page rather than the image that does not satisfy the Featured article director's criteria for an image on the main page. The Filmaker 18:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Well it does appear that the decision has been made. However, I'd like to state for the record, that I do not find the image of the hotel to be satisfactory, although I cannot provide an alternative. The Filmaker 22:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Michel Aoun - copyvio

Hi Pharos! To be honest with you, I have no memory of uploading that article at all. No, I didn't translate it, and I'm surprised to see that my name is the first in its edit history. I honestly don't remember ever having seen it. I have no objection if you delete it. David Cannon 22:21, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Clinton Global Initiative.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Clinton Global Initiative.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:54, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] George Washington (inventor)

About a month ago, I sent you a message about the Dutch translation of George Washington (inventor), nl:George Washington (uitvinder). It was a Featured Article Candidate at the time. I'm delighted to say that it has been approved today, so you've landed yourself another Featured Article :) AecisBrievenbus 20:29, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:WikipediaSister-header

This image map you did showing the other Wikimedia Foundation Sister Projects is very well done. too bad some people don't want it for the main page. I like it alot hope you don't mind that I transcluded it to my user page. if you do, I'll remove it. ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 23:48, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

*polite cough* That was me, actually, who made it; and do what you want with it, I don't mind at all. —The preceding signed comment was added by Cadby (talkcontribs) 23:36, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] That's NOT Morning Musume.

Regarding the link you provided previously, that's not only not the entire band, that photo has two former members of the band (now just solo artists) and two individuals who have nothing whatsoever do with the band. Not to mention, it's not that great of a photo to begin with. Way unacceptable for WP:H!P's purposes, and for the record, so is having no photo at all. --CJ Marsicano 01:24, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Rhodes Colossus

I really love the page that you created at The Rhodes Colossus. To say the least, it was an interesting read! However, at the present moment, no mainspace pages link to it...so it'll help if you can find some proper pages to link to it. Something like British Empire? Have fun editing! [edit] Hanna-Barbera building feature article

I know this was months ago... but i did finally get a picture of the Hanna Barbera building added to the article. Thanks for asking originally. Any other photos you need in the general LA area, let me know. The image in commons Minnaert 01:58, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism and NPOV

I wasn't sure who to tell but user 99.244.13.233 doesn't seem to want to maintain NPOV on a particular article, Orville Lloyd Douglas. ---- WiccaIrish 05:52, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re: religious... Harry Potter

Is it possible to answer this guy's objections? I can't find an authoritative poll done of Christians to test their attitudes towards Harry Potter, and unless I do I don't think there's any way I could give him what he wants. Serendipodous 07:45, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A lobby of editors are trying to provoke me for a edit war.

They are removing cited articles http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pranava_Veda&diff=next&oldid=143660034

I tried to put the same at Veda but they took off the same. Now I created a separate page. They are taking that off too. BalanceRestored 08:35, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
