[edit] considering page moves

Hi, Pharaoh, I just moved an article you tagged for speedy to User:Danielletigger3. If you come across any of those, it may be a good idea to move them to userspace, instead of WP:SMITEing them. newbies don't generally like their articles being smitten, and every editor saved, could be a handfull of featured articles in the future. Other than this smallish issue (not that you are doing anything wrong, as it was a very valid CSD), keep up the good work on patrolling new pages! Cheers, Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 21:47, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Gutair hero

Rather than speedy delete this article, it has been redirected to Guitar hero. Truthanado (talk) 00:34, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Victoris Cross

np... I don't know why it is being targeted... I have requested page protection at WP:RPP. Thanks for your vandal fighting! κaτaʟavenoTC 01:15, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] comments

I'm not trying to dispute. I have no real problems with your work, or your knowledge of policy. It's just that a number of people seem to have my talk page on their watchlist, and I want to correct anything that looks like an incorrect statement of policy since others will see it, even if its just a miswording or meant something different. That's the only reason I followed up on it. DGG (talk) 15:09, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks .Actually I was trying to learn whether I had gone wrong anywhere nothing else.Hence replied.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 17:57, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion nomination of .limbo messiah

Hello, Pharaoh of the Wizards. Thanks for keeping an eye out on article quality. I'm dropping you a note to let you know that I have removed the speedy deletion template that you placed on .limbo messiah because the article does not seem to fit the speedy deletion criterion. While bands can be speedily deleted under WP:CSD#A7, album articles currently cannot be. Please consider other means for addressing ongoing concerns. Feel free to let me know at my talk page if you'd like to discuss this further. Thanks. Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:49, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dr Foster

What's happening here? Somebody anonymous seems to want to delete the 'bad news' about current events.

Johnbibby (talk) 11:21, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Yeah, I was wondering what the heck you were doing.

See what happens when you leave a word out? HalfShadow (talk) 23:29, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks I understand.Just missed a word in the warning given to the Warning. Thanks again.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 23:38, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA...

Thank you...
...for your participation in my RFA, which closed with 85 supports, 2 neutrals and 1 oppose. I'm extremely grateful for all the the kind comments from so many brilliant Wikipedians I've come to respect and admire, as well as many others I've not yet had the pleasure of working with, and I'll do my best to put my shiny new mop and bucket to good use! Once again, thank you ;)

[edit] User: Voltigeur

Our old anonymous nemesis has again started vandalising the page on Vadama, now that the I.P. editor block has expired. Further, I also suspect that the editor may be the same as the editor with user-name Vyaghradhataki. I, once again, request your support in combating this menace. Voltigeur (talk) 11:50, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I did notice the semi-protection tag. If you wish to verify my claim, perhaps you could do no better than compare the material introduced by the I.P. editor and Vyaghradhataki in the articles on Vadama and Iyer, word for word. I thank you for your support. Voltigeur (talk) 13:58, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vadama

The user Vyaghradhataki has repeatedly defaced the page on Vadama. I have tried reasoning with him about his inane 'changes', as he terms them, for which he produces no supporting evidence. All that I have received in return is a torrent of poorly reasoned arguments and abuse accompanied by more, persistent vandalism. I really am at my wits end about this menace, and request your immediate assistance. In particular, I wish you to read his statements about his intention to continue his activities under all circumstances. Voltigeur (talk) 16:36, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Policy on section title length?

Hi. I have a question. I think succinct section titles are more appropriate than lengthy ones, so long as they accurately summarize the section, which is why I shortened a couple in the Expelled (film) article, but then someone reverted it, claiming "POV" edits. I looked all over the Namespace for a policy relating to section title lengths, but couldn't find out. Any ideas? Nightscream (talk) 04:14, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User: srirangam99

Hello Sir Pharoah,

I introduce myself as user srirangam99 (real name N.Srinivasan), I am based in New Delhi, India. I need your help in that I am new to Wikipedia, very much interested in articles on religion, history and sports (initially at least). I find some history pages laced with errors (in my opinion) and wanted to discuss the contents of those pages after being pointed out about the need to discuss with other editors. However, my efforts haven't borne fruit. I feel some material on history pages, especially in the pages on Chalukya dynasty of South India are representing prejudiced POV and are not backed by relevant and verifiable sources or material. I would like to contest the contents of those pages and seek seek third party review (probably WP:3P or something). Can you help me pls.? I eagerly wait your reply. Thanks.

[edit] thank spam

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which passed with 194 supporting, 9 opposing, and 4 neutral.

Your kindness and constructive criticism is very much appreciated. I look forward to using the tools you have granted me to aid the project. I would like to give special thanks to Tim Vickers, Anthony and Acalamari for their nominations.

Thank you again, VanTucky

[edit] RfA thanks

Thanks for supporting my recent request for adminship which was successful with 89 supports, 0 opposes, and 2 neutrals. Unfortunately all I can offer is this lame text thanks rather than some fancy-smancy thank-you spam template thingy. I was very pleased to receive such strong support and to hear so many nice comments from editors whom I respect. I’ll do my best with the tools, and if you ever see me going astray don’t hesitate to drop a note on my talk page. Thanks again for your support!--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 01:37, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lady Aleena's RfA

Pharaoh of the Wizards...Thank you for supporting my nomination for adminship. Through it I have become aware of a great many people who can help me in my future editing endeavors. Even though I was not promoted, your support shows that I still have something to contribute to Wikipedia, even if it is minor edits to fix spelling and grammar to working in WikiProjects to help others make great articles. If you wish to further discuss the nomination, please use its talk page. Stop by my talk page anytime, even if it is just to say hello. Have a wonderful day! - LA @ 04:00, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you from Horologium

I look forward to using the tools you have granted me to aid the project. I would like to give special thanks to Wizardman, Black Falcon and jc37 for nominating me. — Horologium

[edit] New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:51, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
