Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Phantom784! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! Here, however, are a few links to get you started:

There are lots of policies and guidelines to get to grips with but they all make your life easier and your stay more fun in the long run. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or add {{helpme}} to your userpage - someone will come very, very quickly to your aid. Please be sure to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? ;)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a great time, all the best, sayonara and good luck! --Celestianpower hab 22:26, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WP:MIND

Hello. Round four of Wikipedia Mind Benders will open on Thursday, December 1. This round will be drastically different from round three; part one will consist of a creative project, and part two will be developed from there. The full details will be released when the round opens. Time and speed should not be major factors in this round; thus, there is no exact opening time for the round as speed will not factor into the scoring. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 22:44, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

P.S. Please add Wikipedia:Mind Benders/to do to your watchlist to receive further announcements; the NotificationBot is currently down and all notifications will be placed on that page. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Note: This message has been sent by Flcelloguy. If you do not wish to receive further messages regarding WP:MIND, please contact Flcelloguy. Special thanks to Fetofs for helping distribute this message.

[edit] Userboxes

That is one hella list of userboxes, how did you find/compile so many? I'd like to use a few, but as Jimbo Wales doesn't support the idea, I stick to a basic few. But, that doesn't stop me from asking where you found them all. It must have taken ages! -Chewbacca 09:30, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

I found all the boxes on Wikipedia:Userboxes. And as for how long it took... --Phantom784 03:32, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
This user was up all night finding userboxes and is now very drowsy.

[edit] Brain Teaser AfD

To all WikiProject Roller coasters participants: Brain Teaser, a kiddie coaster at Six Flags Darien Lake is up for deletion via WP:AFD. This isn't my article, but if it's deleted, it sets the prescident for many small coasters to be deleted, such as Mild Thing, which runs counter to the Coaster Wikiproject and also will make a lot of park templates look dumb since they can't include all coasters. [edit] Article Update

I know you don't know me and I don't know you but I just hought I would let you know that I answered some of your questions that you had about Blackpool Pleasure Beach on the talk page. I did not edit the article, I thought I would leave it to you to do what you see fit with it.--yettie0711 15:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Encyclopedia Dramatica

Regarding your question about Encyclopedia Dramatica. I went there. I got fed up, I couldn't wait for an answer any longer. When I went there, I found bad taste in comedy, excessive swearing, gratuitous nudity and some porn. You can type this website in if you want but you have been warned. [redacted] --Yancyfry jrTalk

[edit] WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I may have found your page based on your contributions or your link repair user box on your user page. If you are not a member, please consider including your name on the project page. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 23:15, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject roller coasters

Hi there, just to let you know that WP:ROCO has been given an overhaul. As you are listed as a participant, I just thought I'd let you know that there's a new to-do section and much clearer guidelines for roller coaster articles. Hope to see you over there! [edit] ED link

I've removed it because links to ED are banned by ArbCom - the utl isn't any better, as it's an easy way of bypassing the spam filter. Will (talk) 00:34, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Electronic theatre controls.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Electronic theatre controls.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:48, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Xbconnect.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Xbconnect.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:13, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
