Phaedriel!

It's so nice to see you again! Thank you very much for stopping by. My talk page has been very thirsty for some pleasant messages. :) I don't have an awesome poem, but hopefully this smilie will suffice. :) *Cremepuff222* 00:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey Phaedriel My Shiny Things expandable box on my userpage keeps showing this little white, or depending on your computer, black line at the bottom when you open it. Would you mind taking a look at it and trying to fix it. --Тhε Rαnδom Eδιτor 02:20, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

The now-traditional RFA thank-spam

Thank you again

For help with that Simple English issue. And I'm so very sorry that person did that. What ickiness, and now people will think it was me. Urgh. Ah well. I put a disclaimer down so that's all I can do about the matter. Also, I thought I'd let you know that I've been checking my email much more regularly (read: every few hours) for a few weeks now, so I'd be sure to see any ~*Bonks*~ from you! (none yet! hee hee.) So, I'll be sure to read it quite quickly, dear. Also... and I hate to ask, but Jreferee has given me carte blanche to do his userpage (I already did some minor tweaking, but not knowing how much different he wanted it, I kept it quite similar to what he had previously. However, if I get into trouble, could I call on you to wave your magic wand? lol. I'm still thinking about what colors, or what design (Did you see Eliz's page?), Jreferee says he has no preference (although I doubt he'd appreciate it if I did it in pinks and flowers, lol) so I'm thinking bold blues, black, etc. I've always identified him by his bright bold blue signature, so I think it would fit him well. Anyway, I'm rambling again... ~*Sigh*~. I hope you are having a wonderful day! ~*Hugs*~ ArielGold 21:51, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Blacklist Problem

Hey Phaedriel, hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I am having a bit of a problem with the spam protection blacklist. Radio Station WBIG-FM's website is idigbig.com....problem is, the spam protection blacklist won't allow me to add that. Is there anyway that you can go in and change that? I would appericate it. Take Care and Have a Good Day...NeutralHomer T:C 09:21, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Scratch that, I have to request on the whitelist page (unless you are an admin at Meta too :)). I have done that, hopefully someone will add the site to the whitelist soon. Take Care...NeutralHomer T:C 12:19, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

An idea like that!

Hello, Phaedriel! I want you to show me how to make my page like this--

it is un-be-lie-va-ble but very great of an idea

Well, I'm old school, guys... and I still love the sight of the orange bar! Tsk, kids these days, with their blue and green and purple bars... in my days, we did the reverts manually, and CSD was backlogged with 20 entries, and the orange bar was... well, orange... (Impostor?) interwiki accounts

Today I noticed an account on the Czech Wikipedia under your name that vandalized several pages [7]. Judging by the contribution pattern, this is almost certainly an impostor, is it? TML 20:00, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Also, please verify whether "Phaedriel" on the Spanish and French Wikipedias belong to you or to impostors. TML 20:07, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
By the history on that es: user page, I'd say that's our usual vandal—this has happened before. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 20:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Ugh! Most likely. That's happened to us all. BTW: I'm sysop on two other wikis - I'm going to set up accounts over there in the usual names and mail passwords out to the owners, just to prevent this kind of nonsense - Alison 20:14, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
... will they ever stop? :( Dear TML, of course I'm not the one who vandalized at Czech Wiki today, and it wasn't me who registered at Spanish Wikipedia either. Time to contact the respective bureaucrats... again, the same old same old. I did register at French, tho, after being impersonated at Wikisource, Wikibooks, Simple English and several other places. After that, I thought I was safe - silly me. Thanks for letting me know, sweetie, and thank you for the help over there, dear Allie. Phaedriel - 20:21, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
I hope SUL comes soon. Would stop this in their tracks. Will (talk) 20:24, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
I've done up a wikimatrix on Meta to verify all my accounts (actually, I made it so that I knew where I had an account and where I didn't, but it also serves to verify my identity). Not a bad use of time, and I'd even be willing to do one if you (specifically Alison and Phaedriel; sorry boys!) would like. EVula // talk // // 20:45, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Too late, but thank you for the kind offer :) It's a useful thing to have all right - Alison 21:14, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Holy Wikiaccounts, Batman! EVula that's just amazing, how much time it must have taken to set all those up, and how do you keep all those passwords straight? lol. I've just started doing this (creating accounts, not that matrix thingie - what a feat of coding!) with some Wikis, after an unpleasant issue arose at Simple English, but wow, that's a lot of accounts! lol. ArielGold 21:38, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
That's a pretty cool idea, Allie and EVula! E, sweetie, I'd be most grateful if you could so this for me, thank you! With these last attempts at trolling and impersonating me today, the latest in a rather endless series, not doing so would be suicidal. Fvasconcellos, dear, I'd strongly suggest you to do the same, if you haven't already. Love, Phaedriel - 23:42, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
I've had the same run-in with inter-wiki spoofers lately. I'm sure the lack of beautiful and thought-provoking words easily gave away the fact the impostor was not you. I didn't do anything as techie as EVula did though. I just made a small userbox on my userpage verifying my other Wikimedia account other than English Wikipedia (which is Commons). How in the word do you people maintain all those other countless accounts, sheesh :P?!¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:50, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the kind words, dear PPG :) And the very same thing can be said about your own recent unpleasant experience at Simple wiki... which I have no doubt is tied to all these events. I've created several accounts at different places in the last hour, but the task is exhausting indeed - so I think I'll call it a day and, if you allow me, I'll make me a box like yours until our own Neo helps me with the Wiki-Matrix ;) Have a beautiful weekend, Gal! Love, Phaedriel - 00:01, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
If EVula is Neo, who would you be, Sharon? Trinity or Niobe? (I'd definitely be the Merovingian - ooh, Encyclopedist would so be apt to be Smith with his army of sockpuppets) Will (talk) 00:18, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, most of those accounts only have one or two edits to them, so there's not much I have to do to "maintain" them (though I have modified my non-admin sig for each language, and will at some point finish standardizing my userpage layout on each project), but my editing often takes me from one end of the Wikimedia universe to the other. It's quite handy to be logged in all the time. :)
Also, you should have an email from me in short order, Phaedriel. EVula // talk // // 05:20, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
(dedent—sorry, Will :P) Sharon, I have a little favor to ask :) I've contacted Aphaia over at Wikiquote, as apparently I received the sincerest form of flattery over there as well. Could you leave him her a note and confirm my identity? Fvasconcellos (t·c) 00:51, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Gladly, F dear - so sorry it reached you there too :( It's done, I've confirmed your identity to Aphaia, so you should be able to register your name at Quote in a matter of hours (just one thing: Aphaia's a "she" ;) And Will... I don't know... if we have a Trinity at our project, that'd be Allie, not me! ;) (and I thought we already had a Merovingian :P ) Love, Phaedriel - 01:14, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Oops. I hate it when I do that! Thank you so much :D Fvasconcellos (t·c) 01:19, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Sigh. Sure, you have my permission. I don't like the idea of preemptive protection, but that user clearly intends to vandalize again. And boy do I wish he'd stop calling me that... Fvasconcellos (t·c) 02:46, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

a 3rd party request again

Hi, I see you're busy but another circumstance has come up that I think would best be sorted by a bit of 3rd party involvement. As I expect you've noticed, I'm working to get rid of non-notable tv show episode articles. This is a process of discussion, consensus, etc; see WP:EPISODE and WP:TV-REVIEW. I have no idea what your views on this are. The issue I would like you to look at is the discussion that has been occurring on Talk:List of Oh My Goddess episodes. This has gone on for a month and has gone heavily against keeping the individual episode articles. I closed the discussion and redirected them: oldid, diff since. The result has be an edit war over the format of the talk page. The discussion has been 'reopened' by White Cat but nothing new has really been discussed. I see some serious ownership, civility and etiquette concerns here. I re-closed the discussion, but it hasn't stuck. I have no problem with further discussion, but feel that the formal review needs to be closed and whatever further discussion can continue further along in the talk page. This is also spilled over onto my talk page. I would appreciate your opinion here and wish to move on as there are many other things to do than pay attention to this show. Thanks, --Jack Merridew 11:18, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Take your time — things all have their priority and this issue is unchanged since my above post. I'm busy on other things myself. Best, --Jack Merridew 08:23, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
addendum: I've just finished reading the Kept Man AfD. I found many voices and opinions I've seen elsewhere. This is obviously an older debate than I've realized. Seems every time I nose around, I find a new hoard of non-notable fanish articles. --Jack Merridew 11:09, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Sorry to nag, but... please see also: User talk:Jack Merridew#Recent mass redirecting. Hope all is well. --Jack Merridew 13:16, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Hmm

this disquiets me. Comments? — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 07:17, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

It disquiets me as well. I realise that the article is a statement of the caricature characterisations which are commonly held and expressed, and I do not accuse the author of holding the prejudices described. But I wonder if this is an appropriate encyclopedia article? --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 08:19, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm not truly convinced that it's a good idea either. Please, allow me to discuss about this with Grue in private. Remember, he's a long time, valuable and dedicated editor; so let's try and approach this in a civil and respectful manner. Love, Phaedriel - 09:44, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Dear Timothy and Anthony, you might wish to read this discussion. Bear in mind that it's some 5 months old tho, so I'm still planning to discuss this with Grue in private. Love, Phaedriel - 11:52, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Dear Phaedriel, it's exactly because I knew Grue was a longstanding editor that I came to you for advice, as I figured you'd be a good person to talk with him. I will note, though, that the two articles Grue suggested in the MfD that his material would be useful in improving have since been deleted. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 16:45, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Your userpage design

Hi, I borrowed your usepage design. Hope you don't mind, I've given you credit for it. : ) - Soprani 15:14, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Allegations

Hello Phaedriel, how are you doing? I understand you're probably busy, but I thought I should ask you about this. User:89.104.48.187 has been adding sockpuppet templates, accusing me of sockpuppeting and more along with User:Jack Merridew. [8] [9]. A different IP, User:83.216.71.178 added a comment on my Editor Review page, with further accusations that I was sockpuppeting! [10] What would be the appropriate action to take, as it's rather annoying, and I normally avoid stuff like this! — jacĸrм (talk) 16:09, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

For the record, we're not sockpuppets (but Sharon knows that). I've seen a lot of vandalism from this same London ISP; it's just some vandal that's pissed-off. --Jack Merridew 16:29, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
