[edit] Japanese date.
The anon is basically right: the native Japanese calendar is dated by the ruling emperor, and formally we don't know who will be a ruler in, say, 2001, therefore the Japanese (name of the) date is formally unknown. I posted the question how this is handled in the corresponding artcles (Talk:Heisei & some others). `'mikka (t) 15:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Holy macaroni, Batman!
You're not an admin? Your name comes up so often that I thought you were close to being a Bureaucrat! It's entirely up to you, obviously, but wow-you're not an admin?! 69.145.123.171 Hello! Wednesday, June 28, 2006, 17:54 (UTC)
- Ha. I dunno where I got the the macaroni idea from, per se, but I use is from time to time. Beautiful, is it not? :) 69.145.123.171 Hello! Wednesday, June 28, 2006, 23:28 (UTC)
- Oh, snap! I forgot to say thank you for the award! Many many thanks! 69.145.123.171 Hello! Wednesday, June 28, 2006, 23:35 (UTC)
[edit] Overstating the obvious, perhaps…
…but you have the most beautiful userpage I have seen on Wikipedia, and I also don’t mean the color-coordination (althought it is very æsthetically pleasing). The depth and richness of spirit that comes through the text is both amazing and wonderful. Wikipedia and the world needs more people such as yourself. Thank you for being you. -- Avi 18:49, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rfa
Well, I know you don't want the rfa, but if you did, I think that everyone realizes how great you are and would vote for you ccording to the rfa ;). By the way, I was wondering if you got my emails, since I have been having trouble with my internet. Let me know if you haven't or have, so I can resend them to you if it didn't work the first time. [edit] Star
Why thanks! Though I am not sure if I deserve such praise. Nevertheless, you can always count on me for to help or talk about anything that I have knowledge of. Also, I am glad that you decided to return after having left a while back. Happy editing :-)!Voice-of-All 01:10, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Yearpage vandal
Sure... That's fine. The user has made changes to categories that I don't understand as well. I just wish that editor would actually discuss this with someone. Grandmasterka 08:48, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion
Hi Phaedriel, thank you for your message and your kind words :) My current modus operandi is to delete CSD candidates only if they were tagged by another user, unless it's clearly an attack page. (I'm still a newbie admin, so I'm being extra careful.) Should I be more WP:BOLD and change this behaviour? - Tangotango 13:06, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you!
Thank you very much for the revert on my userpage. :) And please let me know when you are up for RfA next (and accept!). Regards -- Banes 16:05, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I have decided to retire
Hello Phaedriel. I just wanted to come here and thank you for everything before I retire from wikipedia. I have decided not to stay for various reasons, mostly from the past. I have seen what this place has done to people, and I have decided to not let it happen to me. I don't know if I will come back, but regardless I wanted to thank you. You were always nice to me, and for that I am forever greatful. Thank you my friend for everything. Matt B."aka" Thetruthbelow 04:41, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
P.S. Good luck with the personal *thing*. Hope it all works out for the best and let me know

[edit] Thanks for your support in my RfA!
Thanks for voting! Hello Phaedriel/Archive 15, and thanks for your support in my recent RfA. I'm pleased to announce that it passed with a final tally of (96/0/0). I was overwhelmed by all of the nice comments and votes of confidence from everyone. I have to credit you with planting the "admin bug" in my head when you'd suggested it a few weeks prior. Your kind words are always appreciated! Thanks again, and see you around! OhNoitsJamie Talk 06:36, 30 June 2006 (UTC) |
[edit] RfA
I'll do that. I thought I messed up on that date. But questions for the candidate? I coulda swore I put that one in. Aaрон Кинни (t) 12:25, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- I sincerely appreciate it. I noted in my edit summary that the difference between the time zones really confused me. But thanks again. Aaрон Кинни (t) 12:37, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

- I'll wait until a later date. I don't think I am prepared for the scrutiny just yet. And if it weren't for your stopping me, I may have been "put under the microscope". Maybe I'll wait 'til I hit 4000-4500 edits. Thanks anyway. Aaрон Кинни (t) 13:17, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

- Thank you for your generous words. It's a shame you didn't accept your own RfA, as I am certain it would've succeeded. Aaрон Кинни (t) 13:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] So many thanks
My dear Phaedriel, I am honored to have recieved your star! Thank you so much - it is a beautiful thing indeed, and I am just happy to have been able to provide you with that support, and would do it again in a heartbeat. -- Natalya 12:59, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kinneyboy's RFA
I'm not sure if there's a precedent for that, you'll have to ask the crats or admins or whoever does the clerical side of failed RFAs. I only closed it because AFAIK, all withdrawn RFAs must be closed. I suppose it could be possible to resue it, but I don't really know. Cheers. NSLE 13:02, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- With no votes cast, there is no reason the original page can't be used. Just blank it and start anew. For that matter, the current edits can be deleted without a problem. NoSeptember 13:27, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- For future reference, until accepted, transcluded and voted on, the RfA is not legit, doesn't get listed as an "unsuccessful RfA" and can be used again. Note this one for example (in the history you can find votes cast, since removed). I mention this because both Kinneyboy's and your own RfA are re-usable as long as you remove the votes and re-date it etc. NoSeptember 13:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I noticed this new album article snooping in your contribs. I took the liberty of expanding it a bit, and then nominating it for DYK. Are you familiar with his work? ++Lar: t/c 15:46, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RfA thanks
Dear Phaedriel (I am allowed to address you somewhat close to the same sweet way you address everybody else, right?), I must share with you that your support in my recent RfA has meant the most to me as an RfA candidate, along with that of anybody else who didn't know me that well on-wiki but nevertheless took the time to review my contributions and strengths and weaknesses as a candidate. The fact that you were willing to do this has made your support all the more valuable in my mind.
I'm pleased to announce that the RfA has passed with a final consensus of 67 supporting, 0 opposed and 0 neutral. Please let me know at my talk page any time if I can help you with any admin-related tasks (although to be fair, I'm quite sure I'll be finding your name on RfA soon enough, if you're willing), or if you have any comments on how I'm doing as an admin. Thanks again! TheProject 22:05, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Your kind gesture is very much appreciated, Sharon! You've brought a smile to my face. :-) The ironic part, however, is that right now, when I have discovered these beautiful flowers, I'm right smack dab in the middle of watching the original black and white Little Shop of Horrors. :-) Thanks! אמר Steve Caruso (desk/poll) 01:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the kind words on my talk page. Darth Vader was my hero when I used to watch Star Wars. I've used DarthVader as my nickname on various internet forums/IRC networks, etc since I was about 10 years old, and so I've used it here again on wikipedia.
