A new feature of mine, this is my Game of the Month. Every month I will post a trivia or knowledge challenge here. There will be several different types of quizzes and I'll try to include as many different subjects as possible. This month's game is...
[edit] So You Think You Can Spell?
[edit] How to play
- Two pronunciations will be given for each of the ten words: International Phonetic Alphabet (My knowledge of IPA is rudimentary at best, but I'll try) and just plain old phonetic spelling (less precise but easier to understand).
- You will also be given a definition.
- ALL spellings are in Canadian English (so all you Americans mind your 'U's. If you don't know what I mean, you're not off to a good start)
- There are no proper nouns.
- Please don't look up the words or use reference sources.
- Post your answers in a NEW section on this subpage's talk page. I would request that you don't look at other's answers.
- The winner will be able to put a userbox (which I will be designing soon) on their page (stating to the effect of "this user won Pharaoh Hound's Game of the Month"). Happy spelling!

[edit] Elf's answers
So that my spellings aren't blatantly obvious to the next person, I've embedded them in a comment in this section. Hey--do we get partial credit for nearly correct answers? Elf | Talk 21:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
