  • The Chinese surname Pan. In fact, the Chinese character () of this particular Chinese surname Phan is the same as the Chinese character for the Vietnamese last name Phan. For example, the surname of Phan Boi Chau. It remains an open question if there is any historical link between the Phan clans in Vietnam and the Phan clans in China.
