Coordinates: Phalodi is a city and a municipality in Jodhpur district in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
Phalodi is also called salt city due to salt industries.

Phalodi is an old town where the King was elected.

Phalodi is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 303 metres (994 feet).
Phalodi is between four districts in Rajasthan i.e. Jodhpur(135Km towards south), Bikaner(156 Km. towards north), Nagaur (145 Km in east) and Jaisalmer (165 Km in west). The Pakistan Border is around 100 kilometers from Phalodi. Some of temples are famous here. Latiyal Temple is very famous in Phalodi. The people come from across the country for getting blesses from Maa Latiyal. "Indira Gandhi Nahar Pariyojna", also known as "Rajasthan Cannal Project" have it's big township here named R.C.P. colony. National Highway No.15 also kiss phalodi while going towards east( towards Bikaner).
Phalodi is very hot in the summers, freezes in the winters and gets no rain in the monsoon.
phalodi is a very hot city, but there is no employment for people people used to go to mumbai for stock exchange.....

As of 2001 India census[2], Phalodi had a population of 44,756. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Phalodi has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 46%. In Phalodi, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age. Mr. Sanjay Purohit (Taru)S/o Shri Om Prakash Taru became Chartered Accountant in first attempt by the grass of Maa Latiyal. He is the first person ever in history of phalodi become CA by studying in Phalodi only. At present he is working with Mumbai International Airport. Here two students of class 8 name vinay bissa and somesh vyas was sellect in top ten merit in jodhpur district its first time.Pratap Charan and Manish Vyas was selected in iit, and both of them are currently in USA.and Yash passed 10th with 90% in BAL ACADMEY school,Khichan near Phalodi. Mr Damodar Thanvi, famous political leader, also belongs to Phalodi. His nephews Mr Arvind Thanvi and Mr Narottam Thanvi are engineers are working with Accenture and ITC ltd respectively. mostly Brahmin live in Phalodi.About 35 KM away from phalodi a huge temple of folk god PABUJI MAHARAJ.
The salt city is on pinnacle level of progress due to blessing of Maa Latiyal.

Phalodi has two hostels of paliwal community which live in near by villages.these help village children take college education. Sunil paliwal from neighbouring village hopardi is an officer of IAS currently working in Chennai. His brother Anil Paliwal an Indian Police Service officer works in Jaipur.
