Fine, but be ready for a lot of changes and a lot of reasons why.

If you give "reasons why" in your edit summary, abide by all policies and guidelines, and your changes actually improve the article, then no one should have a problem with them. But that DMOZ link has been there for quite some time, and there is established consensus for it remaining. I would not start by removing that again.
