[edit] Origins of the name Peyo
There appears to a discrepency between the French and English articles. The English version cites "Peyo" as a mispronunciation of his name by an english cousin, the French page cites it as a mispronunciation by a nephew. - I should check this to be certain, but I think it would have to be a cousin, as Peyo acquired the nickname at an early age, probably to early to have cousins yet. Fram 07:22, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Peyo was a schoolmate of my grandfather. He told me about that story. I'm pretty sure that he gained that nickname from a nephew that had diifuclties to pronounce Pierre. Lvr 12:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! I would love to have such a connection to Peyo :-) I do think it is more a difficulty to

pronounce Pierrot (and that's why I also think that he acquired it in his youth, as Pierrot is a juvenile form or Pierre), but that does not mean that it can't have been a nephew instead of a cousin of course. If I have time (Worldcup starts tonight!), I'll see if I can find it in the Hugues Dayez (spelling?) biography of Peyo tonight. Fram 13:44, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

- Allright, it's indeed his cousin. That's settled then. Fram 20:19, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Peyo was overwhelmed by the success and his health began to fail -I think this needs a citation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.125.137.201 (talk) 21:03, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
