[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Laura_gibson.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Laura_gibson.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 10:00, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Graffiti Wikiproject

Hey peter its {kiptrev} here, from the Graffiti section. just wondering who runs the graffiti section (who's the head honcho) any ways hope you can get back to me on that. cheers Kiptrev 18.23 29 April (UTC)

Ok, I'll start by adding artists (Nano4814, Microbo, Duncan Jago, Pixel Phil) not only graffiti but street art, which is graffiti in a sense. im also going to try and make a "to do" list on the main page.

[edit] The grafiti article....

The grafiti article contains a lot of external linking, but does not have any inline citations (see WP:FOOTNOTEs) . Hip hop culture is already under-represented in Wikipedia, I would hate it if someone nominated that article to be removed from FA-status. Chubdub 13:27, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The golden age of hip hop for deletion?

I see that The golden age of hip hop is up for deletion. I wonder what you think of this. P.O.N.Y. 17:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music

Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:04, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Graffiti Project Donation

I made you Graffiti Project guys a little donation.
Check it out here: Template:Street Art
Rework it as you need to. I'm more familiar with the activist, punk rock, anti-consumerism and relaiming the streets style street art. I think Street art as a whole, and especially the stencil graffiti and wheatpasting end should reflect that. So things like abolishment of private property, community projects, art intervention and those kinds of things should be included to a healthy extent.
I'm also not deep enough into hip hop culture to really know what belongs on the list from that site of the spectrum.
I also want to work on a List of Street Artists page, which lists all artists form all street art mediums organized the best we can, by whichever format they're most well known for.
So, if you need any help with anything else, just let me know on Wikipedia, or send an IM to kaos industrial on AIM.

[edit] Sticker Art Page

Hi, I'm new to wikipedia and I'd like to help start a sticker art page as well as become an active member in the graffiti art category. Please let me know where I can start and I'm going to research how to actually create a new page for sticker art. Thanks, YoniLevin 19:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Edit Talking Heads

The image was deleted because it wase licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which means it is not considered free enough for wikipedia.Geni 23:55, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Barwon Heads.JPG

Can you please confirm that the photographer released this picture to the public domain - if not please correct the licence tage. Thanks Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 08:22, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

  • My Mum took it. What more do you want? A photo of her taking the photo??? PeterPartyOn 05:31, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Well you should be recording this - the reference to the local newspaper makes it seem like it's a rip-off from there. Has she given permission for it to be here? If so, please record properly. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 05:45, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Barwon Heads.JPG

Thank you for uploading Image:Barwon Heads.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 08:17, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:RMR.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:RMR.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:27, 2 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 18:27, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Talking Heads (Newspaper)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talking Heads (Newspaper), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talking Heads (Newspaper) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Talking Heads (Newspaper), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:44, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Talkingheadsno1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Talkingheadsno1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:22, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Michael Holman.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Michael Holman.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:15, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Wild style.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wild style.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 01:45, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
