[edit] Function space

Hi Peter, and welcome here. I saw your edit to Function space, where you wrote that "In Category theory a function space is a map object." However, later on the article says that a function space is an exponential object. That seems to be quite confusing. Unfortunately, I don't know category theory, so I was hoping you could reconcile those two statements. Additionally, I don't think that category theory should be mentioned in the first paragraph; perhaps it's best to move all discussion to where "exponential object" is mentioned?

Incidentally, have you already come across Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics? That's just a bunch of people who like working on maths articles. Thanks Jitse. Just made a change to address the matter.

Still I am concerned that possibly "function space" and "map object" are not synonymous. Perhaps a function space is an instance of a map object. If this is true, the map object deserves to be an article with function space mentioned as an example.
