[edit] Okay

First, I'm glad to see that you've figured out how to get back into your account.

Second, the whole "Remsen" thing is cute, but it doesn't quite make it clear what you're trying to ask. Something about copyright on the photos? DS (talk) 02:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Pete Bertine

A tag has been placed on Pete Bertine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 05:55, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles, as you did with Pete Bertine. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 06:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] More

All right. Firstly, a word of advice - don't screw around in articlespace. That's what the sandbox is for. Secondly, if your octogenarian friends find the learning curve too steep... well. May I propose a workaround?

Show the page to your friend, Pseudonymous Geezer. Ask him if it's factually correct, if there are any important omissions, if there's anything that should be changed. Make the changes that he suggests. Repeat as necessary with Fakename Oldguy, Alias Crotchety, and the rest.

"The Free Encyclopedia That Anyone Can Edit, In Principle, Barring One Or More Of A Variety Of Exceptions, Including The Possibility That They Find The Learning Curve Too Steep" isn't nearly as pithy, I think you'll agree.

More later. DS (talk) 14:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your images on Commons

You've uploaded a few images of newspaper articles and letters on Wikimedia Commons and used them as citations. These images are probably not in the public domain, unless you actually wrote the articles, meaning that they'll be deleted. What you should do is cite the actual newspaper articles and letters, which is more legal.-Wafulz (talk) 00:48, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

To delete your images on Commons, you can add the template {{speedydelete|reason}}. It's also important to declare your source. You haven't done so for commons:Image:Theodoregordonanddog.jpg, so it will eventually be deleted unless you add the source. As a rule of thumb, you should include basic details for your images when possible. So for commons:Image:Winter Gorge.JPG, you should write in the description field "this is the winter gorge in [place]." For the source field, it's a good idea to specify that you took the picture. One last comment, unrelated to images, is about The Turner Brook Reserve. Is "The" a part of the name?-Wafulz (talk) 03:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
What website is Gordon's image from? If it's public domain (which it probably is since he died in 1915), I can do the work for you and you can use that as an example.
About the blacklist: according to this, several accounts have been created for the sole purpose of spamming VBS.tv in Wikipedia's articles. You don't have to worry about getting in trouble with it though- unless you dedicate your account to putting a link to VBS in every article you run into, you'll be fine. If you need to cite the video, you can use template:cite video. If they release the video into the public domain, then you could actually upload it to Commons.-Wafulz (talk) 23:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Send Kylu a message on Commons. He'll give you further instructions (I'm an administrator on Wikipedia, not Wikimedia Commons, so I'm not 100% sure what to do from that point). Sorry for all the hassle- we're just very strict about copyright issues here.-Wafulz (talk) 04:53, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hillary Flowers Designer Collective

A tag has been placed on Hillary Flowers Designer Collective, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Hillary Flowers Designer Collective and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. PMDrive1061 (talk) 21:56, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Re your message on my talk page, if you can put together an article on Ms Flowers that complies with WP:Bio then of course it will not be deleted. Notability of subject matter is a keystone of Wikipedia (see WP:N. I suggest you write the article in your sandbox first (User:Petebertine/Sandbox) and ask a few editors to review it before you copy and paste it to the article space. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 22:53, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you please have a look at this WQA? Let me know what you think. Thanks. CadenS (talk) 21:44, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I think these comments made by an administrater best sum up how tired we are with your behaviour. --Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 00:01, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
