Peter Yan is a amateur golfer in Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2008, he competed in the Junior Golf Shoot-Out held at Myrtle Beach National. He finished very well with a score of 111 on the first day and 118 on the second. He is also a member of the Carolina Forest High School golf team. While good at golf, Peter also plays basketball as well. He was a member of the 2008 Ocean Bay Middle basketball team. While on the team, he was well known for his amazing jump shot, whom scouts have compared to J.J. Reddick's. Unfortunately, he was injured during the season, and had to sit out for 8 games. But, he did help the second-year stingrays to a 10-2 record, second in Horry County.
