Peter and Nathan were two students at a small college in Oregon. In 1998 there was a tragic accident. The two young men were on their way to the all school beach trip when a cow stepped in front of their vehicle. Unfortunately it being the normal Oregon coast Highway weather it had been raining and Nathan the driver could not slow down quick enough and swerved into the ditch. Peter died on the scene but Nathan was lifeflighted to the nearest hospital. Tragically Nathan did not reach the hospital, there had been too much internal bleeding. The funeral for Nathan and Peter was held at Bethany Baptist with upwards of 700 people attended. On the tenth anniversary of their death on the 23rd they had two stones placed inside the walls of the new clock tower.
