Suparna Bhattacharya is a Linux kernel developer and Senior Technical Staff Member at the IBM India Systems and Technology Lab, where she works with IBM's worldwide Linux Technology Center.

Suparna Bhattacharya was educated as an electronics and communication engineer at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kharagpur), Kharagpur, West Bengal, India.

Suparna Bhattacharya began working at IBM in 1993. She is an elected member of the IBM Academy of Technology, and a senior member of IEEE. Since about 2000, she has been working with the Linux kernel, including investigating block I/O, asynchronous file system I/O, direct I/O, kernel dynamic probes, kexec, first failure data capture mechanisms, and ext3 (now ext4) and ReiserFS file system enhancements[1]. She is one of the very few female kernel developers.
