[edit] Birthdate confusion
There are three different birthdates (two in the text; different one in the birth category, which I changed, originally it was 1589); does anyone have the actual birthdate?--FeanorStar7
[edit] Japanese family name
It is unknown as to whether the first kanji character of Peter Kibe's original Japanese family name was the "katsu" character (symbolising "life"), or the "kawa" character (meaning "river"). If the former, "Kassui" is a possible transliteration into roman letters from the Japanese. The latter possibility, however, is excluded by this "Kassui" spelling and I think that "Kasui", which is the spelling used by the Jesuits of Japan, is better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.148.66.203 (talk) 03:07, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
