Talk:Petrinja

It is stated that population in Petrinja was as follows:
Year of census | total | Croats | Serbs |
---|---|---|---|
1961 | 27,517 | 14,942(%) | 11,955(%) |
1981 | 33,570 | 14,621(%) | 12,617(%) |
1991 | 35,565 | (44,4%) | (44,9%) |
2001 | 23,413 | 19,280(82.35%) | 2.809(12%) |
My cousin that lived in Petrinja said that during 1991 census a serbian women came and took data about him and his family. His son in law, daughter and two children were out of the house (at work, in school) and she did not put anything in nationality data (they were Croats.) When asked about that she said that this were her instructions that if somebody was out of house that nationality must not be defined. It is assumed that later on personal data were altered and nationality was defined as serbian.
This is the way in which serbs increased their population (artificially) in Petrinja and probably in most parts of Croatia designated to be parts of "Greater Serbia "
