Advertising?

I received a message from Wikipedia stating that the material I added was 'outrageous advertising'. I spent my honeymoon on PSV earlier this year (July) and amended the article to add additional information. I added new categories and information based on questions I was asked by people since I returned from my honeymoon. Friends (nosey) of mine had visited the original Wiki when they heard where we were going and said that the page didn't really give much information about the place so I thought I was helping by adding more. Apparently not.

I am not a spammer or shill for PSV resort! I am an Administrator at www.boards.org.uk and moderator at www.boards.ie. I also use a lot of online discussion forums and despise shills and spammers as much as anyone with an ounce of sense. I work for a Medical Communications Agency so perhaps my IP address showed my company name and the moderator in question thought that we were a travel marketing agency of some sort :D

My comments were not advertising, simply letting people know exactly what they would get if they went to PSV. I'm not bothered re-editing, I'll leave that decision up to any editors out there. :( I can see how it may look like advertising as my post was well written and informative but I do make my living as a medical writer so that's what I'd expect...in a way I'm flattered but I'm mostly disgusted at being labelled a shill :( R3nu4l 16:18, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry if that wasn't your intention, but it did read more like an advert than an encyclopedia entry. You may want to read Wikipedia:NPOV. I do think your edit is salvageable and hope you'll take the time to rewrite it (I don't know why it was removed in the first place). -Roger 19:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. Okay I've read the NPOV thing and without being able to see what I wrote (I didn't save it anywhere) I can only accept the POV that it read differently to how it was intended. I won't be re-writing it. Thanks for replying anyway, I'm out of here. R3nu4l 15:22, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
