There were allegations made about his sexual orientation during the same time that Michael Portillo had similar allegations pressed against him. I don't know if there's anything about this on the web, but if anybody finds any old articles with information then please add to article

Can we put down that he was a standing joke in Drop the Dead Donkey, and his picture was on the noticeboard of the office every week as winner of the 'Slimy Git of the Week' award? Jomunro (talk) 21:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
