Anyone with more than a surface interest in irish music would consider Peter Horan to be notable. Wbajzek 22:57, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

As there are notability guidelines at WP:MUSIC for this sort of thing, and I'm surely not farmiliar with Irish music, can you make an argument based on the WP:MUSIC guidelines that he's notable? That will prevent the speedy deletion, and take it to an open forum if there's still a question in our minds about his notability. I'd just stress that making the case he's notable in difference to the established guidelines is important. AubreyEllenShomo 00:42, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion with the person who marked it for speedy

  • I have a talk open with Mr Spunky Toffee, who marked this for WP:SPEEDY in the first place. I have similar notability concenrs, because a google test returns 590 results. Googling for fortune favors the merry (the CD release) returns all of 21 matches. I think this question should go to WP:AfD, though, to get a consensus, as the guy is claimed to be notable in an area of music, and has a CD out. I don't think this is a WP:SPEEDY candidate. • I (AubreyEllenShomo) got this talk reply:
Message received. Since it's already tagged, and there's still no significant assertion of notability, I suggest waiting for an admin to take care of it. If the administrator does not speedily delete it, then further action like taking it to AfD would be appropriate. Thanks, and have a good day! Mr Spunky Toffee 00:31, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
  • At this point, unless the article author makes a notability case in accordance with WP:MUSIC, I leave it to the discretion of the admin who considers this for speedy. If you (the admin who looks this over) don't feel speedy is right, then we'll go to AfD. AubreyEllenShomo 00:42, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To the author

Please read WP:MUSIC and try to get your article up to the minimum inclusion standards listed there. If you need my help, ask, and I'll do what I can. I'm familiar with the inclusion criteria. Mr Spunky Toffee 00:48, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

As a musician, has Peter Horan toured internationally? That automatically makes him worthy of inclusion. Find proof of his touring, and this article will definitely be kept. Mr Spunky Toffee 00:51, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To the admin

I withdraw my suggestion that this be deleted speedily so that the author may bring his article up to Wiki standards. I don't want to bite the newcomers. Thanks. Mr Spunky Toffee 00:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
