[edit] Adamson's alledged confession
I remember after Peter Adamson was sacked from Coronation Street he gave an newspaper interview where he admitted that he was a paedophile and that he had molested the girls in the swimming pool. He also said he wanted to have sex with his baby granddaughter. This wasn't a news story, it was an actual interview with him, all these statements were his own quotes. The police talked about bringing perjury charges, as he had obviously lied in court, but I never heard anything else. I found the quote about his granddaughter bizarre, and if a celebrity said something like that today there would be major consequences, but it was soon forgotten.
Someone else must remember this interview? I would like to find a reference to it so it can be added to the article. 172.159.99.86 18:40, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I remember the story back in the eighties. At the time I was working in the industry. The fact was that Dan Slater, a freelance reporter that originally sold Adamson's stories continually pestered him to give a further interview and during a drinking binge (Adamson was a failed alcoholic), he admitted his guilt and had said that maybe "his fingers slipped" and that he wasn't aware. "I feel very guilty about that". The comment about his grand daughter was as follows; "People may think I'm a paedophile, I'm not, but they do fascinate me. I can't understand how someone could do anything like to children. The thought of f******g my grand daughter makes me sick". The interview was a news story; it appeared in The Sun over three days around 1988. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fergie12345 (talk • contribs) 12:06, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
