I don't agree with characterizing Jolly as a "cool jazz" musician. Maybe "West Coast" because "cool" was only one part of West Coast. Leonard Feather likened Jolly's style to that of Horace Silver. Ted Gioia emphasized the Bud Powell influence. Neither of these elements in his playing could be called cool in the remotest way. --Alan W —Preceding comment was added at 04:21, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
