[edit] Hints and solution, or just hints?

I think that this page should contain hints, not spoilers themselves, because this ruins the whole game for people.

Wikipedia policy Policies and guidelines clearly states (section 2, On Editing Styles) that we should be preserving information. Intentionally deleting information violates this. Individual people are quite capable of figuring out for themselves if they choose to solve the puzzle themselves. Furthermore, by removing the information one is clearly violating the NPOV policy by forcing a particular perspective, rather than offering opposing arguments. Thought 5 July 2005 08:40 (UTC)

...this is getting rediculous. I posted the solution again. Something needs to be done about 24.92.80.154. Anderiv 05:11, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

I would have both the hints and solution present, I agree we need to have the infomation here, but leave the hints as a last hope people will try and work it out themselves Ralph Sleigh 00:11, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Merging with main article

I think this article should be merged with the article about the game. The {{magic-spoiler}} must be used.</nowiki> I disagree, it could be possible to acidentally stumble upon it, even with the spoiler warning.

Um, what the crap? I stumbled on this article...has anyone considered stating the problem in the intro? I agree that the articles should be merged, with a proper spoiler warning. I don't think it would be the end of the world for someone to be spoiled anyway. NickelShoe 22:35, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Since when should encyclopedias care about readers' personal reactions to information presented? Why do Wikipedians always try to entertain their readers? Should we delete Abortion because the subject upsets people? Should we fluff up World War II to make it sound more action-packed? Or perhaps we should replace every article with a little series of quizzes on the subject, with an answer key at the end (kind of like Jeopardy). The standard purpose of an encyclopedia is to provide information. Consumer response, positive or negative, is not a concern. The only thing the reader should "get out of" the article is the information regarding the article title. The solution should be presented in full without silly "discouragements," because that is the most direct and concise way of writing it. Everything else is extraneous.
And yes, this should be merged with the main article. -User:Xmnemonic.
I, too, pray for the day when all information is plainly stated without any hint of irony or humor! Perhaps we will reach this dream when robots rule the earth, or maybe when we're all under mind control, or any other of the traditional post-apocalyptic futures, take your pick. (Note: I do realize that wikipedia is an encyclopedia whose function is to state the facts. I truly never did think I'd find a subject in which I'd hope for the omission of information.)
This bit of information was, actually, once part of the main article. I likewise fully support the reintegration of this information. Indeed, the only reason this was allowed to exist separate, to my knowledge, was that there just was not enough support to keep them together before. A state which, by all appearances, has changed.

Agreed - this should be merged. -Anderiv 17:02, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
I thing that the information shall be included. I do, however, also believe, that the information shall be separated. In the case of possible spoiler, I believe that the spoiler is to be separated into an article of its own. The issue of this particular merge is not an issue of inclussion or omission, it is an issue of the "correct" structuring.TMA 10:08, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

As a quick note, I added the Merge tags to both this and the main article. So as to make sure everyone is aware of thoughts of those here and there. Thought 19:21, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

I think it should be merged, but restore the hints before the solution, it is in no way taking anything away from the solution and may encourage people to work it out themselves Ralph Sleigh 00:03, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
Just passing by... but I concur it should be merged. I think Xmnemonic summed it up best-- Wikipedia isn't a quiz show. Peace. Metta Bubble 01:50, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
