Petruchio

Petruchio is the primary male character in William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.

Romeo and Juliet also includes a Petruchio (a bit role or a ghost character, depending on the source) who is one of Tybalt's companions.

In a Studio One episode for "The Taming of the Shrew," Petruchio was played by Charlton Heston. In the 1996 Baz Luhrmann version, Petruchio was played by Carlos Martín Manzo Otálora. In the 1999 adaptation 10 Things I Hate About You, Patrick Verona is the Petruchio counterpart, and was played by Heath Ledger.
