Petros Duryan

Petros Duryan or Bedros Turian (Armenian: Պետրոս Դուրյան, 1851-1872) was a famous Armenian poet, playwright and actor.
He was born to a poor family. His father was a struggled blacksmith in Istanbul. Duryan finished the Skutar seminary in 1867. During 1869–1871 he published some of his poems in "Meghu", "Eprat" and "Mamoul" Armenian papers. Duryan died of tuberculosis at the age of 21. After his death, a rich legacy of drama and poetry he had left back has caught the hearts of people ever since.
