Petra Kvitová

Petra Kvitová (born March 8, 1990 in Bílovec, Czech Republic) is a female tennis player from the Czech Republic. She scored a huge victory at the 2008 Cellular South Cup, when she defeated defending champion and top seed Venus Williams of the USA. Her career high rank was #60, achieved on June 9, 2008.

In June 2008, she reached the fourth round of the French Open, playing in her first ever Grand Slam tournament. She defeated Akiko Morigami of Japan in the first round, Samantha Stosur of Australia in the second round and in the third round 12th seed Ágnes Szávay of Hungary.
