Petra Joy is an internationally published author, photographer and filmmaker. She specializes in sexuality, erotic art and female self-realization. Petra has an MA in history and film studies. She wrote her MA thesis on the portrayal of female sexuality in Nazi feature films. From 1990 to the present date Petra has directed and produced over 70 documentaries for international TV stations such as Channel Four, National Geographic, WDR. The main focus of her work has always been lifestyle and sexuality.
In 2004 Petra launched her own erotic photographic studio and film production label “Strawberry Seductress”. The aim: to create “art-core” films that focus on female pleasure, and creative sensual play. Thus far, she has directed, shot and produced three award-winning erotic films for women and couples, Sexual Sushi, Female Fantasies and Feeling It!
These films have been featured on various TV shows and shown at film festivals world-wide. Petra is a true independent: financing, producing, directing, shooting and distributing her films by herself. She wants to revolutionize the adult industry by visualising female rather than male fantasies. Her films were shown at the BFI and have won the “most erotic film” award at the FICEB in Barcelona 2007 and the “feminist porn award” in Toronto in 2008. Petra is currently working on the production of her fourth erotic film to be released at the end of 2008. She also published the book “Adult movie making for couples” with Harper Collins. She has stated to publish the 18-rated “soft” cuts of her films so that they become available to a wider audience who would not be comfortable to shop in a sex shop. More information: www.petrajoy.com
