Petr Kalus

Petr Kalus (born June 29, 1987 in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player and a prospect for the NHL's Minnesota Wild. Kalus was drafted in the 2nd round, 39th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins.

Kalus played 3 years of junior hockey with Vitkovice in the Czech Republic before coming to play for the Regina Pats. In his first, and thus far only, season playing North American hockey, Kalus led the Pats in scoring with 58 points in 60 games.

In the 2006/2007 season, Kalus played 43 games for the Providence Bruins with 30 points. He also played 9 games for the Boston Bruins with 5 points.

On June 30, 2007, Kalus was traded to the Minnesota Wild from the Boston Bruins along with a future fourth round draft choice. In return, the Bruins acquired goaltender Manny Fernandez.
