Peter Wheeler

Peter John Wheeler (born 26 November 1948) is a former England international rugby union footballer who played hooker and is Chief Executive of Leicester Tigers.

He made his England debut February 1 against France in 1975, and his last appearance against Wales on March 17, 1984 against Wales, gaining 41 caps in between, including 5 as captain. He went on the 1977 British Lions tour to New Zealand and the 1980 British Lions tour to South Africa. He also was an early advocate of professionalism. A very successful captain of Leicester Tigers winning the league once and the John Player Cup 3 times in consecutive years!

He is now Chief Executive of Leicester Tigers, a club run by former players.
