Peter Trego (born June 12, 1981 in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset) is an English cricketer who plays for Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler.
He made his first-class debut for Somerset in 2002 but after the 2002 season he joined Kent for the 2003 season and then after a season playing for Worcestershire 2nd XI he joined Middlesex for the 2005 season. He returned to Somerset in 2006. His maiden first-class century was 140 against West Indies 'A' in 2002. He scored 3 Championship centuries for Somerset in 2006 including 135 against Derbyshire. His best first-class bowling performance was 6-59 for Middlesex against Nottinghamshire in 2005.
Trego also plays football as a goalkeeper to a reasonable level, and has made appearances for Margate F.C., becoming the 3rd goalkeeper in the club's history to score, and also played for Weston-super-Mare A.F.C..
His elder brother Samuel Trego played for Somerset 2nd XI between 1994 and 1997.
Whenever Trego takes a catch, a wicket, or hits a boundary, more boisterous members of the Somerset faithful are known to chant "Trego's on fire !", a reference to the blaze which decimated the Newton Abbot branch of Trago Mills in 2004.
