Peter Stringfellow

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The son of a steelworker, he owns the Stringfellows table-dancing clubs in London & Paris. A Conservative Party supporter, he claims to have slept with more than 3,000 women (which would mean, on average, approximately one new woman per week if he started at the age of twelve). His current fiancee is Bella Wright (a former Royal Ballet dancer): at twenty three years old, she is forty two years younger than him and he has taken her on a tour of exotic locations including his home town[1] He owns a home on the Spanish island of Mallorca, where his UK-plated Mercedes SUV makes frequent appearances in the area of Puerto Portals. He is also a regular contributor to the Mallorca-based celebrity-spotting publication Celebrity Magazine.

[edit] Trivia

  • He suffers from tinnitus (possibly from the loud music in his nightclubs).[2]
  • Stringfellow owns a number of businesses besides his nightclub, including Party Plan sales and an adult products website.
  • An episode of the TV series Keen Eddie pastiches Stringfellow and his establishment.

In "Sticky Fingers", Inspector Monty Pippin, a victim of identity theft, is summoned to his "gentlemen's club", where the owner threatens to revoke his membership in the high-class strip joint unless he redeems a charity pledge made using his stolen credit card.

Later, Pippin, the owner, and two female club workers appear on the telethon, presenting a giant cheque signed by “B. Longfellow”.

The matchbook which Pippin's partner Detective Eddie Arlette collects and pins to his London map at the end of the case shows a logo which consists of the name "Longfellows" rendered in looped cursive lettering, similar to that of the real Stringfellows club. It is pinned to the map in the Soho district, the location of "Peter Stringfellow's Angels Soho".
