T. Peter Rakitzis is Professor of Physics at University of Crete,[1] also affiliated to Institute for Electronic Structure and Lasers (IESL) at the Foundation for Research and Technology Foundation for Research & Technology - Hellas, Hellas (FORTH).[2] He completed his Ph.D. research under the supervision of Professor Richard Zare at Stanford University.

Peter attained his B.A. in physics at Cornell University in 1992 and his Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1997.
