Peter Prendergast (born September 23, 1963) is a football referee from Jamaica. A FIFA referee since January 1 1994], his first international match was USA against Ireland, on June 9 1996. Since then he has refereed many matches in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the Olympics, the FIFA World Cup and the Confederations Cup.

Prendergast is bilingual, able to speak Spanish as well as his native English.

He is well known to the fans of the United States and Belgium football teams. On July 23, 2000 he awarded an undeserved penalty kick to Costa Rica in injury time in a CONCACAF semifinal round World Cup qualifying match. His erroneous decision resulted in a 2-1 loss for the US, and greatly complicated subsequent qualifying. On June 17, 2002, he disallowed a goal from Belgium player Marc Wilmots, which would have put Belgium in the lead. Brazil won the game 2-0.
