Peter Overton (born 1966) is an Australian television journalist.

He joined the Nine Network as a reporter for National Nine News and is most prominent as a reporter for 60 Minutes however in a recent interview he has admitted before he became a journalist he was a builder and teacher

Overton grew up in Longueville, a suburb on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, where Nicole Kidman, then a neighbour, became one of his childhood friends. He was educated at Lane Cove Public School and North Sydney Boys High School.
He is married to Seven News presenter Jessica Rowe and has one daughter, Allegra Penelope Overton (born January 18, 2007).
