Peter Oresick

Peter Oresick (pronounced o-RES-ik) is an American poet, publisher, and professor.

Currently he is coordinator of the Chatham University Low-Residency Master of Fine Arts Program in Creative Writing. Since 1997, he has been Adjunct Professor of Graphic Communications Management in The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also a lecturer in the writing program at the University of Pittsburgh. At Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, he directed the Master of Arts in Writing and Publishing Program. From 2005-2008 he was on the faculty of the Literary Arts Department at the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts.

As a publisher he served in senior positions in literary, scholarly, and technical publishing from 1981 to 2004 at the University of Pittsburgh Press, Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, and Printing Industries of America.

Born in 1955 in Ford City, Pennsylvania, he was educated at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a BA in Education and a MFA in Poetry.
