Peter Martin was born in West Yorkshire. He studied both violin and viola with Suzanne Rozsa and Nannie Jamieson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, from which he graduated in 1978. In 1986 he was appointed Head of Strings for an LEA music service in Greater Manchester, where he is now Senior Teacher. In addition to his duties as a teacher, Peter has performed regularly throughout the north of England as a freelance violinist/violist. He has also written and arranged a great deal of educational string music, much of which has been published. His pieces regularly appear on the A.B.R.S.M. string examinations syllabus.
