Peter Mackie (born June 26th, 1965 in Bellshill, Scotland) is a retired football (soccer) player. Born in Scotland he later moved to Canada with his parents Ralph and Elizabeth. He resided in Guelph with his brothers Alex and Ralph, where he graduated from John F. Ross Secondary School and moved on to pursue post secondary education at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Mackie currently lives in Kitchener with his wife and children Stuart, Taylor, Andrew, and Hayley.

Peter played with Guelph Minor Soccer until he was 17. While playing with Guelph, he played a large role in taking his team to 2 Ontario Cup finals (Under 10 and 17). While attending John F. Ross Secondary School, Peter played varsity soccer for his five years of high school. Peter took the following year off to try his luck playing professional soccer in Great Britain. He had try outs with clubs including Chelsea F.C., Motherwell F.C., Rochdale F.C..
Peter returned to Canada to attend Wilfrid Laurier University he became a 3-time All-Canadian (1985-1988) and played in 1 National Final (Silver Medal). He then played 5 years professionally in the Canadian Soccer League, with Ottawa Pioneers/Intrepid, Kitchener Spirit, and Kitchener Kickers.
In the past 10 years Peter played in the Kitchener and District Soccer League with various clubs including Kitchener Polish Eagles and Celtic Boys Club.
[edit] Coaching background
Peter began his coaching career at the youth level where he coached his son Stuart's Kitchener Spirit Rep team from Under 9 to Under 14. In 2001, Peter began coaching the University of Waterloo Men's Varsity soccer team where he led the team to Ontario University Athletics Gold beating Wilfrid Laurier University 2-1. Peter also won the Ontario University Athletics coach of the year. In 2003 Peter took on the role as women's head coach along with the Men's team. In that same year Peter took the Women to their first playoff berth in almost 10 years and won silver in the Ontario University Athletics Final losing to the University of Western Ontario 3-0.
Currently, Peter happily coaches both teams at Waterloo and also coaches his youngest son Andrew's Kitchener Spirit rep team.
