Peter Johnsen

Dr. Peter Berghsey Johnsen is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bradley University; he has had the post since July 2006. Prior to coming to Bradley, Dr. Johnsen served as Research Leader of the Food Flavor Quality Research Unit at the Southern Regional Research Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He also served as the Director of the USDA Agricultural Research Service, having worked in the organization since 1986. He has over 60 research papers in his name, as well as contributions to numerous technical books, and he has received two patents.[citation needed]

Dr. Johnsen received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was Assistant & then became Associate Member at the Monell Chemical Senses Center of University of Pennsylvania in which he taught in the Department of Biology & College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, Dr. Johnsen has been a visiting scientist at the University of Bonn in Germany. He also received an Olin Fellowship to work at the University of Oslo in Norway.

In 1999, Dr. Johnsen was presented with the rank of Meritorious Executive by the President.[clarify][citation needed] In 2000, he was elected to the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture & Forestry. [1] In 2003, he was elected to the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering. [2] In 2004, he was selected as Federal Laboratory Director of the Year.
